Our School Day

At St Joseph's we have a varied and busy school day full of learning, play and prayer to keep all of our pupils engaged in our wonderful environment. Due to our size we vary our school day depending on your childs key stage. Please see below for information regarding pickup and drop off. For more information regarding the content of our school day please visit the Curriculum tab of our website as well as the Catholic life tab where there is lots of information.

Drop off

We have new drop off and collection times so please read and take a look at the map for directions.

Please note the gates open at 8:35am. We are seeing an increasing number of children being dropped off early – some as early as 8:00am. Children are not supervised until the gates are open. There is still vehicle access to the car park until 8:30am which means any unsupervised children could be at risk. Please see our Clubs page for details of Y-Kidz, our wrap around school clubs for if you wish to leave your child earlier in a safe environment.

GATES - FRONT Web

Please note that all children should enter using Gates 2 and 3. Under no circumstances should anyone be walking up from Gate 1 as they are at risk of injury.

Prayer and Worship

As a Catholic school, collective worship and assemblies form an integral part of our school day. The class assembly held on a Thursday is the one that parents and carers of the children in that class are invited to attend once a term.

All pupils are expected to attend assemblies and services as they form an integral part of the religious life of our school, but parents do have the right to withdraw children from assemblies should they wish to do so. Please contact the Headteacher in these circumstances. Please visit our Catholic Life tab for more information.

Lunchtime

As a key part of the day, there is a whole page of the site dedicated to lunchtime!
