Music at St Joseph's

We are very lucky at St Joseph’s to be able to offer a variety of musical instrument lessons during the school day.

Year 5 are learning to play the Ukulele this year, under the expert guidance of Surrey Arts 'Tuning Up' teacher, Mr Beagley.  We look forward to hearing them perform for us later in the year!

Music in the Community

Year 3 St Joseph's children take part in the Dorking Halls Music Festival.

Our choir are always delighted to perform for the annual St PNL SVP Christmas Tea.

This year, children from Year 4, 5 & 6 will be taking part in the wonderful 'Young Voices' Concert in the O2 in Early 2024.  Mrs Tackie and a 100 strong choir from St Joseph's will be travelling to London to join one of the biggest choirs in the world, made up of between 5000-8000 children from other schools in the country!

From September, the children attend YV after-school club every Tuesday to rehearse for the big day.  The concert is the culmination of a lot of hard work from the teachers and children, and is an incredibly exciting experience not only for the children and staff, but for the families who go along to watch.  We can't wait for 'showtime'!
